The adventures of Lilly & ballet

So Lilly has recently started a mix of ballet, tap and jazz. Her first class was last Tuesday and I wasn't completely sure she was going to take to it very quickly. She's nothing like Jason and I, she's super shy around people that she doesn't know very well. The girl that teaches the class opened the door to take them into the studio and Lilly jumped up and was like the 2nd kid through the door.. who would've thought little shy Lilly would evolve into a social butterfly so quickly? So they go into the studio and dance around for 45 minutes then get a little bitty tootsie roll and you would've thought Lilly won a million bucks. She was so excited to tell us about singing and dancing, she was just beside her little self. It was so sweet and I must admit she surprised me by the whole situation :) She's growing up so fast, it's nuts to think she'll be, dare I say it, 4 in December. WOW how time flies when you are having fun, huh? Here are some new picture for you to enjoy of her playing dress up!! She's such a girly girl! :)

I'm a slacker..

I am aware! :) Sorry I don't update this like I should, the way we are always in 50 different directions everyday it's hard to find time. Everything has been going well for us, we've had some hiccups in the road, but nothing we can't overcome!! Easter was wonderful, Lilly went to big church with us that morning and actually was an angel, much to our surprise. She was well behaved and even loved to sing about Jesus being alive (I was very impressed she got something out of the service and remembered it!). But don't let your imaginations run wild just yet thinking we have an angel all the time, because that's nuts. She's developed this attitude that's killing us. Just the other night Jason was asking her something that she apparently felt he should know the answer to because she got her breath hard, told him the answer and then said, "Duh, Daddy." I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep my composure, and I was certain Jason might beat her, so I quickly try to make light of the situation by asking her where she's heard that, because I'm thinking that she's not a child of the 90's, and she politely replied, "My Pawpaw." It was at the moment I saw a vision of my daddy putting his palm to his forehead saying DUH when someone didn't know a common sense answer in my head. It was one of the priceless memories I'll never forget!! She's very smart and therefore that tends to get her into trouble more than we'd like. Her teacher told me just yesterday that she didn't have an attitude, but that she was a lot more mature than the other kids in her class (by the way, they are all about turn 4 or already 4) and that she was just a little bossy.... All I could think was DUH, she's related to my mom! :) Haha

Short lived snow days in Mississippi..

Here are all the pictures from our fun snow day. It only snows in Mississippi like once in every 10 years.. but Lilly's broken tradition, this is her second snow in her little 3 years. Here's a few to enjoy...

Christmas, a smidgen late...

Sorry... I know it's been a while since my last post.. haha a long while!! :) I guess that I should start with Christmas, huh? Christmas was a fabulous time this year. Lilly's at the age where Santa is the greatest person ever! "He" cleaned her room to make room for all the new unnecessary toys "he" brought and she thought that was the greatest thing ever. Here are some pictures to update y'all..

Happy Halloween, about a month early!

So, everyone knows that Halloween is my most favorite holiday and finally I have someone to share it with who might actually love it more than me... Lilly! She has never been more excited for anything in her life. I bought a new sign for my yard and we had to put it out on like September 15th because it was bothering her no one could see it but us! I also got her a new Halloween t-shirt and some Halloween tights when they first started putting everything out and every morning we have a knock down drag out fight for her to wear them to school!!!! We've established a new rule that you can't wear Halloween clothing until at least the 1st day of October, and yes we've got a countdown going and we review it every morning!! Haha, she's going to be a very interesting teenager let me just tell you! We've been pondering the costume situation for a while now too, and we've narrowed it down to Hannah Montana or Dee Dee Doodle (from the Doddlebops!), she changes her mind daily.. I wish she'd make a permanent decision soon because both will be a challenge, as most people don't know Dee Dee and most kids who love Hannah Montana are at least 4 years old, so no costume would fit her. Anyhow, here are some pictures of her posing in her Halloween pajamas (we are bending the rules a little for pajamas!) Enjoy, and everyone can start wearing their cute little Halloween outfits in 02 days according to the Hatfield's Law!! :)

Pottying

Lilly has been pottying in the big potty for a little over a week now. We are so excited to report she's only had a few accidents, I can't believe she's growing up so fast. She will be 3 in just a few months and sometimes it seems like Jason and I were wondering if they were really going to let us leave the hospital with a real baby by ourselves yesterday! I know that sounds crazy but it's so true, they grow up faster than you can imagine. I miss being able to rock her and steal all the sweet baby kisses I wanted, because she couldn't tell me no and she didn't struggle to get down to go cover up her babies or whatever. Listen to me, it sounds like I'm complying with her latest request.. two brothers, yep and now I'm over it! :)
